John Lakin - The humour of "Plod"

Imagine that you are on a narrow boat on a pleasant day in good company and sharing yarns: for this is the way that the collection of short stories listed below evolved. The story-teller draws on his own experiences, mostly from the time he was a village ‘bobby' in Trentham (The picture of John pulling a rabbit out of his hat first appeared in 'The Sentinel' in 1981). You can find more information on John’s journeys on ‘Cloward’s Way’ on the Elaton web site, as told by his wife, Jill.
